Dubai Airports and Etihad ESCO Advance Sustainability with Major Lighting Retrofit Initiative
Dubai Airports has partnered with Etihad Energy Services Company (Etihad ESCO) to launch the final phase of its ambitious airport-wide lighting retrofit project. With over 330,000 lighting units set to be upgraded across Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC), this initiative marks one of the most extensive airport lighting transformations in the region. Once complete, the project is expected to save 47 million kilowatt-hours of energy annually – equivalent to powering more than 4,300 homes, while delivering over AED 20 million in yearly cost savings. This collaboration affirms Dubai’s commitment to sustainability and supports the UAE’s broader goals for energy efficiency, decarbonisation, and climate resilience.
